Just last week I had the opportunity and pleasure to thank many of the volunteers that helped the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. The Laredo Family Economic Success Coalition held a volunteer recognition dinner to give IRS certificates to over 100 volunteers from the Laredo community for a job well done.

The staff of Azteca has led the training and field efforts to help taxpayers in Laredo get all the eligible credits from the IRS.

I am very pleased to report that VITA volunteers brought over 6 million dollars into the Laredo economy during the Jan-April 17 tax season.
