Azteca Staff Train VITA Volunteers
19/12/11 13:14
For the past two months, community members have been training to become VITA volunteers. VITA volunteers are training to be certified by the IRS to prepare federal income tax returns in January, 2012. Azteca staff and the IRS Spec officer, Juan Carrizales, present a 16 hour course at the Goodwill Job Center on IH35n and Mann Rd. I urge you to come help your community. Last year, more than 200 volunteers helped to prepare almost 2800 tax returns and returned $6 million in total refunds to local residents. This money was returned to the pockets of Laredo residents and put back into the local economy. We need your help to reach even more families in 2012!
Join our exciting coalition of volunteers – we will provide training and link you to a local families in Laredo. To qualify you can make up to $50,000 a year. The next training is slated for January 2012.
